Andrew Onyearu is the Senior Partner of ANDREWS SOLICITORS. A 1984 graduate
of the University of Nigeria, he was called to the Nigerian Bar in August
1985. After 3 years of legal practice in various areas of litigation and
commercial work, he returned to the United Kingdom in 1988. He worked
and was articled at Fremont & Co, a West End firm of solicitors with
whom he remained until late November 1993 when he was admitted. In early
1994 he joined G Houghton & Son, an East London firm of solicitors
established in 1843. He is primarily a general civil litigator with considerable
experience of commercial; property and matrimonial litigation. He is a
member of the Law Society of England’s Family Law Panel and is listed
in the Law Society’s Directory of Foreign Law Experts as an expert
in Nigerian Law, an area in which he is
one of the leading practicing experts in the United Kingdom. He is also
a member of the International Bar Association; Chartered Institute of
Arbitrators; Society of Expert Witnesses and the Energy Institute. He
has an active interest in Sports Law and is
licensed by the English Football Association as a Player’s Agent.
He has acted and continues to act for individuals, corporate and charitable
organisations in the United Kingdom and Nigeria especially in cross-border
litigation arising from both countries. He has been involved in the following
